{327} perry the platypus

my friends say that i'm in love with perry the platypus from phineas and ferb. i've never seen the show. i have no idea what perry's deal is but i know that i am nuts for his teal colour. i love teal and when i was in disneyworld and his face was plastered everywhere i knew i had to go home with something perry-related. so, i picked up this little guy. he helped me with my name today.

total cop-out today. was watching election coverage all day so totally forgot about my project! a key-chain from my travels down south. :)

{235} mission: space

despite the fact that i am extremely susceptible to motion sickness, nausea, dizziness, etcetra, i wanted to go on as many rides in WDW as possible. so, when it came time to do mission: space, i was all for it!

it was definitely one of my favourite rides of all! first off, i am obsessed with the apollo program so any space-related activity is awesome. second, the introductory video was hosted by gary sinise! yes! then, it was so real and life-like that at the very end when the spacecraft is about to fall down that giant canyon, i was screaming "OH, NO! OH, NO! OH, NO!" it was awesome. but, upon exiting, i was definitely woozy. the world was spinning around me but i didn't want to admit that i felt as awful as i did. unfortunately it set me up for a nasty case of vertigo the following day. oh, well!

after exiting the ride, we got to make these neat videos of us rockin' out in our spaceship and then e-mail them to friends and family. so, i had to a) take a picture of my name on the screen and b) upload the video here. enjoy! ;)

 

{226} name tag

life has been a bit nuts returning from vacation. i shall get back into my name project very soon. in the meantime, here comes another name courtesy of disney world. last thursday, we took a behind-the-scenes tour of the magic kingdom. it was a 5-hour walking tour and was absolutely incredible. i learned so many secrets to the magic. highly recommended. we wore these name tags the whole day (and got to keep them! free stuff! score!).

{224} jedi training

last wednesday, carrie and i were at hollywood studios and whilst we did not get to go on the star wars attraction (i was majorly ill with vertigo), we did go through the tatooine traders gift shop and i bought some stuff for my nephew. i also spotted this badge with my name on it! woohoo! i'm officially a padawan! :)

of course, i was very amused when i also spotted that jesus had also completed the jedi training too. :)

{223} paving stone

on our first day at the magic kingdom, as we're walking to the entrance, there are all these paving stones with names written on them. so, i just remarked "it'd be neat if one said 'lauren'." and no sooner had i said that, that i spotted one! unfortunately the girl's last name was "dies" and i wasn't crazy about my name saying "lauren dies" so i cropped that out as much as i could. :)

{221} hand shadows

home from vacation! just spent 8 amazing days in disney world! it was so fantastic and exciting and relaxing all at the same time. whilst there, i made sure to get pictures of every single instance of "lauren" that i saw. so, now i have a wonderful back-up stock of 20 photos that i can use when i don't have time to make a name. :)

today's name was created whilst waiting at the bus stop in front of our resort (the all-star music resort). my friend carrie created the hand shapes and then i snapped the picture. it was definitely the only creative name created all week. :)
