oh, gosh. how much do i love my butterfly gold pyrex collection? so super much. i find myself gazing at it occasionally whilst i'm cooking. it's just so beautiful. by far my favourite pattern. (although if i were to get my hands on some teal or pink pyrex, those would become my faves...)

so, to make this name i took three individual pictures of each of the three patterns and then uploaded them on my computer. then i deleted the background imagery so i only had the pattern, then i changed them into white (because i like the white on gold better than the gold on white look). i had one first attempt and that failed miserably so i shrunk the patterns so they became easier to work with. love!

of course, i couldn't just use pyrex as my inspiration and not take updated pictures of my collection so...some eye candy. :)

my open shelves in the kitchen were such a great idea to display my pyrex. although, they are definitely becoming overfull. especially since i even had to move some of the pyrex down on to the mini-book shelf. oh, well. i just it all. love love love!

because my kitchen is overflowing, i do have this smaller table in my dining room that display a few pieces. i actually use the teal mixing bowl ALL the time so i'm constantly removing it from its display, using it and washing it and then replacing it! the pieces on the left are being saved for my new local pyrex connection! can't wait to do an exchange in a few weeks. we met through the pyrex collective!



super {healthy} muffins

yesterday i made super healthy muffins. they taste healthy--not very sugary--but i love them. and, it was a total bonus getting to use my pyrex mixing bowls. great food and lovely pyrex rocks. oh, and then i ate my muffin on butterfly gold corelle pyrex compatible plates!

ingredients:
1/2 cup coconut flour
1 1/2 cups whole wheat flour
2 cups mixed frozen berries (i use blueberries, blackberries and raspberries)
1 cup soymilk
1/2 cup fat-free liquid egg substitute
4 tbsp. light whipped butter or light buttery spread, room temperature
1 single-serving container of applesauce (i use apple-cinnamon flavour)
3 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. vanilla extract
1/2 tsp. salt

Directions:
Preheat oven to 400 degrees. In a mixing bowl, combine flour, Splenda, brown sugar, baking powder, and salt. Mix well.

In a separate, large mixing bowl, combine soymilk, egg substitute, butter, applesauce, and vanilla extract. Using an electric mixer or a whisk, mix until thoroughly blended. (Don't worry if butter bits do not break up completely.)

Add dry ingredients from the first mixing bowl to the mixture in the large one. Mix until completely blended. Then fold in the berries. Line a 12-cup muffin pan with baking liners or spray with nonstick spray. Evenly distribute batter among the 12 cups. Place in the oven and bake for about 25 minutes, until a toothpick inserted into the center of a muffin comes out clean. MAKES 12 SERVINGS

for all my followers (because there are so many of you. *sarcasm), it is worth it to know that i do guest post for the Pyrex Collective on occasion. today i wrote a post about a possible first set of mine called the primary collection. i had been mis-labelling it all these months so i am (potentially, if it's true) very excited.

{121} button letters

can it be possible that this is my first name using buttons despite my absolute obsession with them? 'tis true! well, this one took me a few days to make actually. who knew that hot gluing all these buttons together would be so time consuming! but it was totally fun to figure out how to shape each letter using my buttons. i thought this would use up most of my white buttons but it didn't. i'm still left with an enormous amount of white buttons. that's okay. i'll use them again for another name on another day.

the small white buttons from my collection fit perfectly (if not overflowing) in this beautiful pyrex friendship bird dish. it's one of my fave dishes (and, yes, that is a primary green mixing bowl in the background).

{72} fridge magnets

i had searched for these alpha magnets awhile ago but when i couldn't find them, i just figured i'd lost them or sold them. the last time they'd been in use was when i lived in winnipeg so it had been at least five years. but, then this past weekend i'd been cleaning up stuff and going through old boxes and trying to de-clutter my life when i came across these magnets strewn across the bottom of a box. score!

{69} pyrex patterns

i've been wondering for awhile how i was going to incorporate pyrex into my 365-project. i'm crazy about pyrex and my collection has grown 22 times its size in the last year!! (yeah, that's because i bought my first piece one year ago and now have a total of 22). i love me some pyrex. so, i knew i couldn't just arrange the pieces so i decided to take pictures of some of my favourite dishes and then cut letters out of the patterns to make my name. i think i'll use pyrex again some time (only 296 to go!) but make something in the dish instead. we'll see.

pyrex love

yay! i got a beautiful extra large canary yellow pyrex bowl at the mcc today (plus, another jar of buttons). so, i was prompted to set up a photo shoot with my small pyrex collection. i'm working on building it up!!

the rare dish

just got back from the mcc. got a great haul today. i found a cute bolero suit jacket. and a vintage button down jacket that is flared which almost makes me think it is a maternity jacket but whatev, i love it as a regular jacket. also picked up 8 magazines (Elle, LouLou, Flare, etc.) that were released in the last year, two books for Emma, one book for Elijah and...two new Pyrex dishes!

The dish below is from an extremely rare collection--I can barely find any information on it online, that's how rare it is. It's got a little chip so I only paid 50 cents for it, but I just loved the Japanese cherry blossoms on it! The line is called "Pyrex England: Cherry Blossom" (ps. the picture is not of my bowl because I haven't snapped a pic of it yet, but this is one I found online of the same bowl I have).

The other dish I got is below. It's from the Pyrex: Woodland set. It's a mixing bowl which is great because I'm always in need of mixing bowls. Although...I'm not using any Pyrex stuff right now becuase it's all too darn pretty. :) (ps. the picture is not of my bowl because I haven't snapped a pic of it yet, but this is one I found online of the same bowl I have).

the new pyrex piece

isn't this piece super cute? i found it at the mcc for $4. it's not worth gobs of money or anything but pyrex dishes are HUGELY collectible. i needed in on this collection. so, i am constantly scouring the shelves at the mcc and turning over all the dishes that look like they could be pyrex to check for the authentic seal. what am i going to do with these? haha i have no clue! lol

like my green glass collection or every other thing i find at the mcc...i have no idea what i'm going to do with this all. i guess i dream of being able to display all of these things properly some day. in the mean time, my third bedroom/office has turned into a storage room for everything i find while thrifting! i'll be on a hoarders episode in about 50 years.
